Former Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj passes away at 67

The former external minister and BJP leader, Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night. Around 9:30 pm in the night she was admitted to the AIIMS hospital. She died due to Cardiac arrest around 11 pm night. It is indeed a shocking news for the whole nation. Her last tweet was to the Prime minister congratulating him for revoking Article 370 and 35A.

Sushma Swaraj started her career as an advocate in the Supreme court of India. She started her political career in the 1970s by joining the Akhilya Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad.

As in the above picture you can see her wearing a saree like a normal Indian lady. This photo was taken during the SCO meet in Beijing 2018. An example of women empowerment. She served as an External minister in the Modi government, in the tenure of May 2014-May 2019.

She involved and helped out the case of missing Indians in Iraq. Her one of the biggest election win was in 1990 when she became first Chief Minister of Delhi. Sushma Swaraj bought back the girl named Gita with speech and hearing-impaired and stranded in Pakistan for 15 years.

Sushma Swaraj went on to become the cabinet minister in 1996. And she uses to stick to traditionalism and promoted it. She is the second women to hold the position in the Ministry of External Affairs after Indira Gandhi. And hold many positions in the Rajya Sabha, from different constituencies. As she was diabetic and opted-out of the ministry in the 2019 elections due to health issues.

She also had her kidney transplant in 2016. Her career in politics was very glorious as she had a mentor like L.K. Advani. She was a socialist and a very skilled orator. She was a perfect example of the women empowerment.
