Artificial Intelligence: The Harmony Of Evolution

The ability to obtain and apply knowledge, skill and virtuosity is termed as intelligence. It is something that all living beings possess in some or the other way. However, we know human intelligence is a miracle. With the rise of technology and advancements being made constantly , the time has come to question “What is Artificial Intelligence?” What difference will this make to the future?

Artificial Intelligence (AI), sometimes called machine intelligence, is intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans and other animals. Like everyone think, will there be a day when Artificial Intelligence will obliterate human intelligence? Meanwhile let us quickly drive into details about what is Artificial Intelligence and how will it be useful in the future.

So how does the machine learn on it’s own ??

This is where Machine Learning comes into existence. The study of algorithms and statistical models that computers use to continuously advance their performance on a specific task is termed as Machine Learning (ML). These algorithms used build mathematical models of sample data, known as “training data” in order to make predictions or decisions. The applications are email filtering, detection of network intruders, and computer vision. ML is closely related to computational statistics, which focuses on making predictions using computers. By understanding machine learning a coder will be able to code the computer so that the machine would be able to learn from its mistakes.

Countries where research on Artificial Intelligence is excelling:

Publishing papers does not mean they are excelling in that field. But these are the countries that have published more number of papers in the year 2018.

1.CHINA: Has published over 55,000 papers on AI between the years 2011 and 2018.

2.UNITED STATES OF AMERICA: Has published almost 30,500 papers on AI between the years 2011 and 2018.

3.JAPAN: Has published almost 20,700 papers on AI between the years 2011 and 2018.

4.UNITED KINGDOM: Has published around  20,100 papers on AI between the years 2011 and 2018.

5.GERMANY:Has published around 15,000 papers on AI between the years 2011 and 2018.

While the number of research papers can be a good measure of the amount of research done, it’s not the only metric. In addition, let us consider the countries which are advancing towards the harmony of evolution:-

1.Switzerland (2.71)

2.Singapore (2.24)

3.Hong Kong (2.00)

4.United States (1.79)

5.Italy (1.74)

Most importantly, according to this index, Germany and the UK stand in 8th and 10th place respectively. Surprisingly, China and Japan do not make it to the top 10.

Need for Artificial Intelligence:

Advancements around the world are occurring at a high rate. Be it in terms of Medical field or in terms of technology.  However due to increase in scale, there are possibilities when humans won’t be able to perform few tasks on their own. Humans will surely be benefited from AI. Certainly, we know that automation of tasks can lead to workers losing their jobs, but considering things for long term it is going to turn out to be a major benefit. In addition to it , AI can surely process all trivial tasks at huge pace compared to humans. Traffic Control, Automating Support, Automating Manufacturing, Fraud Detection, Car parking, Cyber Security , Garbage Detection subsequently rose to smart cities, can be considered as possible examples where AI has being profoundly used as the harmony of evolution.
